OUR LATEST PLANS FOR SOYO

About the proposals

SOYO is an exciting and unique mixed-use development at the heart of Leeds’ cultural quarter. Since 2018, Caddick Group has been on-site, building a new neighbourhood – a place that will stimulate creativity and create a great place to work and live. Once completed, it will occupy over 1 million square feet of high-quality development, incorporating new bars and restaurants and including some of the largest landscaped spaces in the city.

Earlier this year, we submitted plans to Leeds City Council for Block D, following a period of public consultation.

For the next phase, we are now bringing forward our proposals for Block A, which seeks to bring further high-quality student residential accommodation to SOYO, comprising 360 units. The accommodation will be comprised of a mix of studio and cluster flats, with students able to enjoy the benefits of living in a vibrant and exciting part of the city. The development will benefit from communal spaces such as a gym with 24hr access, dining spaces, gaming areas and a private cinema. Block A will complement the rest of the SOYO development, which already provides over 500 homes in Leeds.

Individual residential units will be designed to a very high standard and the overall development will seek to be an exemplar scheme for the city. Occupants will benefit from a range of amenities and perks, such as access to wellness initiatives, keyfob secure entry, external private garden, access to 24hr staff, and over 3sqm of amenity space per unit.

The work for SOYO commenced in 2018 and Block A represents the final phase of the wider development. Blocks E and F are now open, comprising of 551 studios and apartments, with Blocks B and C under construction and set to deliver additional homes upon completion later this year. Once finished, SOYO will occupy over 1 million square feet of high-quality development, incorporating new bars and restaurants, alongside some of the largest landscaped spaces in Leeds. We’re running a consultation, to get your feedback on the latest iteration of our proposals.

This consultation concluded on Monday 24 July.
